My 94 didn't come with this, I'm considering buying the remote. The manual explains how to program it, etc., and it seems to be active on my car (I tested the programming procedure but without a remote.)
But, I've heard that a lot of people don't like it. Do you use yours?

Re: Do you use your passive keyless entry? (KY Vette)
I have it on my C5 and Trailblazer and I keep it turned off, I don't like my car doors unlocking automaticaly when I get within 100 ft. or so of it. I prefer to unlock it myself when I want it unlocked.

I hate it. I'm around my car too much, detailing, maintanence, etc. If all you do is approach your car to drive it and leave it when done not to be near it then I guess it can work for you. :skep:

:iagree: I hated PKE from the day I inspected my car... the horn would do it's silly honk on and off as the previous owner walked around the car.
Re: Do you use your passive keyless entry? (RichS)
All you gotta do when you are washing the car or working on it is to place the keys on the seat or something.
This happens at the track all the time, people are so worried about someone stealing something.
We leave our keys in the car all the time, nobody will or can steal your car unless it's first or last in line.
We always laugh at the guys who even set their alarms. It's funny watching them fumble for their keys trying to shut it off afterthe line is moving and they were elsewhere. They forgot rule #1, never leave your car if it's in the staging lanes.
Re: Do you use your passive keyless entry? (KY Vette)
I like it, except when it's parked in garage, when you walk by it with key in your pockete, it opens the door. But disabling it is easy, takes 2 seconds, literally.
Re: Do you use your passive keyless entry? (xlr8nflorida)
how do you disable it temp?
PKE. With the key out of the ignition, you hold down the door button till the locks cycle once. If you like, you can confirm it's disarmed by making sure the Passive Active light in the lower left corner of the DIC is off when you turn the key to the on position. Reverse procedure to turn it back on.
