Hello All.
I am hopeful someone can help me out. My 91's right front speaker has a swirling, cracking sound to it. Even when the volume is turned down it can still be heard. Is it the speaker or the relay? Or something else. Thanks so much..
there's a few things you can check
the wiring off the back off the speaker
and that speaker's wiring to the head unit
odds are one of the ends isn't 100% connected
since it's only that one speaker, odds are thats what it is
also, while you have the speaker out, check the overall condition of the cones, but if it's just a whiring sound, they should be ok

Re: Front Speaker Problem (MrBigButt98Conv)
Each speaker has its own amp, located at that speaker. What you are describing sounds like an amp gone bad. They are rebuildable or you can replace them with new ones. Not cheap either way, but it will fix your problem.

Let me know if you need more assistance. :yesnod:
:iagree: Sounds like a shot amp. There is a tech tip on how to replace the capacitors and rebuild it. Cheaper than sending it out or buying another.
