Snubbed (again) by C5'er...
You'd think it wouldn't bother me anymore.
On the way to the Rim of the World run yesterday, I'm rolling up the I-15 when I glance in the mirrors and spot a nice, black C5 easing up in the lane to my right. As he slowly goes past, I look over, smile and start the wave.
The guy never turns his head.
Like this Torch Red Corvette six feet from his door handle is invisible.
Pissed me off.
We had to slow for the border check (you SoCal guys know what I'm talking about), so I drop in behind him and when we're waved through I stand on it and blow past him in third gear.
Immature response on my part, I know, but I had to do it.
Then I meet up with some really fine C5'ers during the run and my faith in the Corvette Brotherhood is restored.
We get plenty of waves from C5's, what I can't stand is when a Corvette goes by with all the windows up, especially if they're tinted, and ya can't see if they wave back or not. :(
Of course, I just assume that they did. It makes life easier. :D
Passed two C5's yesterday, got nice waves, even got a big salute from an older (ie, my age!) guy whizzing by in a nice, very clean Camaro SS convert. Guess it just depends on who you come across on the road. Some do, some don't.

I hear ya', KY.
I hear ya'.
BTW, I did post this thing (not verbatem) on the C5 forum.
A few of the responses were interesting. The rest were from real human beings. .....just like "us"?
Don't go there unless you want to feel like starting a war. And we don't need that.
Seriously. :)
I know exactly what you mean. Not just C5s, but mostly, my dad has a 1970, he gets more waves than me in my 90, but still, most C5-ers (not forum members, of course), it's like they don't know what any other Corvette looks like, COME ON PEOPLE! It's sad to see, Z06 owners, to me, are different, they know what they buy, nice people. :yesnod:
I too have had a lack of wave response from C5 guys. Gives the GOOD C5 guys a BAD rep! I however will continue to keep the wave alive here in Rhode Island.....dissed or not.
