Default Tire Dressing

Ever since I found good old ZAINO I have used their tire dressing. I like the semi gloss and it's very easy to apply. Over the last year I have been noticing that my tires have a build up of the stuff. Everytime I open the hood and brush against one of the front tires I get it on me or my jeans. I decided to clean it all off an try something different. I had some samples of Mequairs tire gel and tried that. Seems like the same build up and it definitely slings of on to the body.

SO......
what are YOU using or have used and what do you like or dislike about it?

I use the new high gloss shine from Meguiar's. No sling, last about 2 or 3 weeks (that's with average rainfall, yeah I drive in the rain). Much easier to find than Zaino. :D

Any gel will leave a build-up. Best remedy is to wipe off the excess.

It only took me two months of soiled jeans to figure out that a "drop-cloth" over the tire would solve the problem.

I apply Armor All with the $1 tire applicators you can get at Walmart. For me it lasts from washing to washing (about a week or two) and it doesn't get all over the wheels -or- the paint. I've heard that it's not the best thing to use as it can dry the rubber but I've never had any trouble with it and have been using it for years.

My $.02

I use Mother Natures precipitation. It gets applied every weekend here in NJ. Sometimes if I park off my driveway, I get some dirt applied as well :D

About once every two years, a sponge with soap and water will work it's way onto my tires, but since I replace my tires(rear ones anyway) once or twice a year, there is no need to keep them clean. :jester

I don't use anything I hate the wet look. Before there was any tire dressing folks used brake fluid.

Ever since i bought my vette (in april) I have used the turtle wax stuff (comes in a green and white box)....not too glossy, but it keeps the tires black....ZERO spinoff in the rain (and in florida, thats every day) Since i wash my car every week, i dunno how long it really lasts, but the water always beads up off the side walls. just spread it on...wiat about 5 minutes, then wipe it off....and i have never had it come off on my clothes.

I'm a big Zaino user, but have to say I'm not all that thrilled with the Zaino tire dressing. I've used it for some time and tried several others. Have to say, I've gone back to Armor All. I too have heard many people don't like it, but I've never really had any complaints. I use a thin application and it lasts a very long time. I scrub the tires at each wash and put more on.

I use Megiures (sp) endurance tire gel. But BECAREFUL it will come off on clothes/shoes/ect. I ruined a perfectly good pair of BRAND FREAKING NEW boots (not cheap) by taping the tire with the toe of my boot. I was not happy.

I use Maguires Gold Class Endurance. Comes with an applicator. Last a few weeks. Smells good. Leaves a semi-gloss shine or a gloss shine depending on how you use it.

Mike.

Poorboy`s Natural Look. Spray on and then use a Tire swipe. Looks great, a real natural look. Also use on the leather seats.
