The wave....
Some forum members are seemingly obsessed with being acknowledged by other Vette owners to the point that it has the appearance of consuming their entire being, and they take it as a personal insult or a direct slap in the face if another Corvette owner doesn't wave/wave back at them. C'mon guys, I just can't believe that your lives are that shallow and one dimensional. When it comes right down to it, all this hub bub and whining is just a waste of energy. Not everybody in this world is freindly and outgoing, so why worry about it?
I wave, and get waved at, but when I don't get a return wave, so what? I've owned several Corvettes in my life, and I don't ever remember signing a pledge or giving a blood oath to wave at every friggin Corvette I see before I was allowed to purchase a Corvette. Sure, it's nice when another Vetter waves or waves back, but Holy Crap, some of you guys act like your whole world is crumbling when you don't get acknowledged. Life is way too short to get so worked up over something so friggin trivial. The finger pointing that goes on in this forum between the different generation owners is hillarious. From 1953 to 2003, no matter what year we drive, every one of these cars say C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E on them, so why all the hate and discontent over who waves and doesn't wave at who? The car has nothing to do with anything. It's the person behind the wheel. The two local clubs that we belong to are mostly C5' ers and me and my little old C4 among a few others are made to feel welcome. I have never been snubbed by a C1,2,3,4,5 owner, but if I ever am, it's their loss, not mine. Can't we all as Corvette owners and enthusiasts just get along? Keep waving if that's what your life revolves around, but if the other guy doesn't wave back, just keep on driving down the road and don't worry about it. You tried...it's his/her problem, not yours, so forget about it, and don't let it ruin your day. Thread, after thread, after thread about non-wavers is shallow, and childish, and quite frankly, pretty damn boring.
I hope everybody has a fantastic Corvette weekend. I sure am!
