87 coup hardtop removal problem
Hi, new vette owner 1st one. Problem is: 1st: hardtop frame is broken, section missing @ windshield and trying to remove hardtop to replace weatherstriping and replace with new frame or top.. can remove back bolts and top moves but cannot get the front to release to remove...
Any info on how to remove top would be greatly appreciated... Help..

search my post's about two week's ago I had a simular problem. Someone sent me a very good set of instructions, you'll need them for your new top too!

Are you using the G.M. supplied ratchet to remove the 4 TORX bolts(2 front 2 rear)
There is a hole in trim by visor on both sides.
In that hole is the torx bolt.
If you realize that than disregard my comments and give the roof a good yank!! :D

Thanks,,, and i didn't know about the two front bolts... would be a good reason as to why the front would not move... should make replacing the weatherstrip alot easier... Thanks for the info...
