I had the chance to drive a 03 50th C5 over the weekend. The owner didn't even know what a C4 was! When we traded keys for a little while he came back and said "how on earth do you drive that thing" Of course I loved his car. Drove like a dream.
But I think that is the attitude that prevails. :seeya
I have to say that that is an absolutely AWSOME machine. Had all the goodies, HUD to name a few. The 6 speed was flawless and actually it rode like a Cadilac compared to my 85. Of course $55k is a lot of cash, but I actually think I would have one.

That reminds me of what my father said to me years ago when I gave him a ride in my first 88 coupe (he had a 77 C3 at the time), "Gee, this thing makes mine feel like a bucket of bolts" :)
I was at a light the other day when a white C5 came up across teh intersection, he gave me some wierd glare as he roared by, so I didn't wave at him, car sounded nice tho, I wanted to catch him but he was far ahead and there was alot of traffic, oh well...
:seeya My son and I just made the trip to Ky. and the Corvette Museum. We passed many Vettes over the 2 week trip, and most C-5 people did not wave. C-4 people usually did though, and one fellow in a black C-4, around Waco, was very friendly. I've always waved, and will continue to do so.
poopie, the whole reason I bought a vette was for the wave! I get kinda mifted when i don;t get a wave in return. In my expirence, the C5's are the worst. I've never gotten a wave outta one of those guys.
