Well it happened to me, I've never experienced this before. Yesterday on my ride home from work I was neck and neck with a black C5. We made eye contact, I waved several times. HE NEVER RETURNED MY WAVE. Perhaps he had alot on his mind, child care, mortgage, insurance, health care, whatever. I don't know why but it bothered me. IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH ENERGY TO WAVE. I'll get over it though. :flag :steering:
Boyz, we are beatin a dead horse here. I wave at every Vette I see. Many times, I do not receive a wave back. No prob. I keep wavin. I was in a similiar position a year or two ago. I was driving my 78 and came up on a woman in a 99 FRC, at a stop light no less. I looked at her and waved. She just continued to look forward, not even acknowledging my presence. Get over it and just keep wavin. :seeya :chevy

Probably the same black C5 that ignored me for several miles on the I-15 a coupla' months ago....ferget him.
How come you aren't going on the SoCalMountainRuns with the rest of us in SD and nearby areas? You'll meet some very friendly C5 owners who drive the wheels off their yuppie Barbie-doll cars.
Last week I was driving into town and met an absolutely awesom 59 vert, red with the top down. As I admired the driver waved. When I realized what he was doing I felt like a real fruitcake since I am usually the one who waves first. The wave is not dead within the true Vette community. There are a bunch of people who drive Corvettes who are not Vetters. Theydon"t wave and I don't care since they don't matter anyway.
Cruisin' down the boulevard this afternoon and came upon a yellow C5 coupe waiting at the intersection. HE initiated the wave first. Of course, I returned the gesture.
Further down the road a odd grayish color C4 coming at me from the other direction.....made eye contact and all.....couldn't be bothered to wave back.

Go figure. :seeya
I bet he waved at you ... you were just going too fast to see him.
I passed a C3 a C2 Two C4s and a four or five C5s this weekend. got waves from every one of them, and most of em waved first. Lots of friendly corvette folks here in the good ole midwest.
Went for a cruise with other vettes yesterday. Passed some C3's C4's and C5's Got waves from all except the C5's....On my way home later on I got a wave from a Porsche....but not other C5's I came across..... :nonod: Come to think about it I HAVE ONLY GOTTEN ONE WAVE FROM A C5 SINCE C5'S FIRST CAME OUT.....
You have to understand that there is a large percentage of people (mostly well off women) that have their 'Vettes as an everyday driver and treat it as the same as if they were driving an SUV. Heck, two of the cars I looked at in my search (which just ended!) were driven by over-60 women.
So just keep it up and be happy that there are a lot of peole who do return it.
yes, the wave will never die. Its just a shame that people own them and don't see the novelty in it. It's not like a mustang or camaro. I figure that only in in 500 cars are a Corvette, its a passion. I wave 100% of the time. Now... my wife is 25 and she always gets waved at in it... wonder why that is.
I am just going to buy a Prowler. Nobody to wave at.
