new guy here
hello all i am new to the foum. I live in fayetville NC and have an 86 coupe. I have read alot of the foum for the last week or so I realy like what you guys have going here and hope that I will welcomed into your group. My vette is black on black and it has 160k and the previous owner replaced the engine recently with another vette eng/trans that had 30k but to my despise the trans (700r4) has already started slipping and i am looking for a replacement. :chevy

yea i tryed babying it then i stoped driving it. when it trys to shift to third it only slips 1and2 are good though. havent changed the fluid i know it is burnt. it is also contaminated with cluch material. my plan is to replace it with a rebuilt hiper unit possibly a 700raptor or one from 4th gear inc. any experience with these companies? or any suggestions? :sad: :cry

My father purchased an 86 coupe BRAND NEW. I have fond memories of driving it with less than 200 miles on the odometer! He sold it with 86k miles & very little problems.
