Welcome! Your car story sounds very familiar. Is this your first Corvette? I bought my 1984 Corvette last year with 178,000 miles. It now has 182,000 miles. I have done some work to it, and have many more plans. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay-in the ballpark?

This place is tops on the net and it is a family type environment. We're all here to help one another.

Regarding your transmission: if you ever want to send it off to get re-done, Gran Trans in west haven ct does a super job and reasonably priced. 203.933.0053 is their number. Call after 12 noon m-f ask to speak to Grant and tell Him Jay sent you.

well, look at the bright side.you can easily have a transgo shift kit and a nice stall speed convertor put in it with little extra cost.
raptors are top o the line i hear if you can afford one.check around for a good rebuild shop in your area and get some estimates.dont overlook the warranty! 12 mos,12k miles bare minimum.buy any extended they allow too.
i dont know if it holds true or not but several posts here reported the a4 shouldnt be downshifted all the time to slow down like you do with a manual.
one guy said he replaced 3 before learning that lesson. so i just avoid doing that.
hope you get er ironed out.
