Welcome! Your car story sounds very familiar. Is this your first Corvette? I bought my 1984 Corvette last year with 178,000 miles. It now has 182,000 miles. I have done some work to it, and have many more plans. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay-in the ballpark?
well i am not going to disclose the exact dollar ammount but it was a deal from a fella that i know we did some tradin and i'd say around the 5-7k range this car has been abused but it is time for me to reminde her how much she is loved in the eyes of a chevy man and how butifull she realy is

well,look at the bright side.you can easily have a transgo shift kit and a nice stall speed convertor put in it with little extra cost.
raptors are top o the line i hear if you can afford one.check around for a good rebuild shop in your area and get some estimates.dont overlook the warranty! 12 mos,12k miles bare minimum.buy any extended they allow too.
i dont know if it holds true or not but several posts here reported the a4 shouldnt be downshifted all the time to slow down like you do with a manual.
one guy said he replaced 3 before learning that lesson. so i just avoid doing that.
