Default Drive Train Longevity?

Hey, I was just Curious about how tough my Drive Train is.

Engine, A4 Tranny
Perf Fear end

Am I hurting it by power braking on dry asphault?
How about making a turn an gassing it half way through to make the tire smoke?
How about err squawking the tires at the light?

I know the L98 was one of the toughest engines made.
The A4 is bulletproof, keeping the bands tight and fluid fresh!
The Rear Gear bothers me though!
It has the Perf rear gear, did checking this option give you a beefed up housing or more support?

ps, I dont do the above mentioned things alot, just among friends, or scaring away the evergrowing rice infestation!

Vette drivetrains are pretty strong. An occasional blast wont hurt things.
No nutrual drops, and frequent fluid changes help.

But like anything in life - moderation is the key.

so winding it up to 6 grand in neutral then putting it in drive is bad???

I wonder what would happen? 5 bucks to anyone that tries it? (must have proof)

I got a friend his uncle had a 65/66 stang back in the day, he owned a little repair shop up in Alabama I think. He found out he was losing the bussiness and in a rage ran out to his car and floored it on the gravel driveway. When those spinning tires found aspault...well he saw a crease appear on the hood as the car stopped running...ewww :U

I didnt believe him intil he brough a picture to school one day...uggh, poor quality but the 2 he had showed plenty.

The huge crease on the hood, and the popped hood revealing a 289 hipo sitting on its side!

I would have thought the rear, or the tranny or the clutch or something would have given way before it tore the engine off its mounts!

Ill talk to him tommorow and see if I can scan one of the pics and post it here! It was amazing to see! But disheartning to see a peice of classic Muscle totalled!

and no this is not :bs I would not BS you guys!

Judging from your other posts i would say it will last about 3 months. And i think that is because you will break the rest of the car first.

Didnt see where you were from until now. Take you car up to Leo's and sell it to him before you kill yourself or someone else.
