You gotta keep that glass top so you can see the helicopters!

A little confused by your post. I have both tops. Car was sold to me with the bronze acrylic top. It started to delaminate, so I bought a fiberglass top off ebay. Once I got the fiberglass top I haven't really used the acrylic top that much. I prefer the fiberglass top, it's quieter, darker, cooler, and it really tightened up the car.

I have a black sapphire metallic vette, and the fiberglass top is plain black, no flake. Unless you get right up close to it, it looks like it matches the car. Personally, I like the black tops on the car, but I'm a little biased I guess.

Find out if there is a price difference between black(no metallic) and having it painted to match. I would bet there would be a decent price difference.

The sloid top stoped most of my rattles, made car Much tighter, cooler, car feels alot more solid, glass top had spider web cracks in it.
on your car I believe I would go with blue - solid.

I have painted top and bronze glass top as well. I almost always use the glass one. Keeps in theme w/all the surrounding glass. Also, it must weigh a bit less too. :)

Probably just leave the top unpainted glass...I needed a painted one because it is so hot down here that the glass top kept the interior extremely hot. Up there in NJ the heat isn't that bad and I would definately just leave it. Not worth the $ based on looks alone I mean both tops look pretty good.

I think if I had a lighter color vette, I would paint it. but the dark colors dont contrast as much and it looks good. :yesnod:

I was shocked hom much tighter my car got when I put the solid top in in place of the tinted one. I could immediately feel the difference, but knew it had changed the car a lot when my wife even mentioned she felt the difference from the passenger seat.

When I bought my vette it had a glass top but a black headliner was installed.
I left it that way because it's so hot here. On advantage it can always be removed without much problem.
