Default Final Outcome

After all of the diagnostics were performed and parts replaced, Pat (ncider) and I have come to the conclusion that I have a blown head gasket. Everything just points in this direction.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to get her fixed at least until some time after Thanksgiving due to lack of funds. I've also decided that while the engine is apart I will have the pistons swapped out to lower the compression ratio in order to enable the installation of a ProCharger supercharger.

I am also in dire need of a complete interior restoration (e.g., door panels, seats, carpeting, etc.). I will also be changing the interior color over to black from the original red.

Afterwards, I will be having the car repainted to the original pearl paint job that I previously had instead of the hardly noticeable pearl that I have now. With all of the above projects in line you guys can see this is going to cost a bundle so I need to delay the onset of this project.

Due to my frustration with the Vette, I have bought a bunch of "little" mods for the other vehicles. Just bought a Borla cat-back exhaust and Volant cold air intake for the F150 and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust for the Navigator. Just trying to make myself feel better.

Anyway, just wanted to keep you guys up to date. The Vette probably won't be out on the road till Spring or Summer of next year! :banghead:

BJ, I'm sorry about the problem, but at least you have it isolated. Been wondering where you've been lately, was starting to worry! Its a bummer that your baby will be out of commission for so long once again, but I'm really glad you decided to keep her! :hurray: :seeya

383 Stroker,
Hey before you tear her apart, I'd be interested in seeing how you have the 12" Solobaric installed. Thinking of getting one myself and wanted some mounting or installation ideas. You have it in the Kicker box or did you have one made?
Pics appreciated, you can send them to sfinocchiaro@yahoo.com

Thanks and good luck with the renovation
Scott
