Ooops!! Sorry to hear about that! Do you have another key fob? I wonder if you can still get them from the dealer? Hang in there! :)

You might check Ebay, about 75.00 for another one ........ if you're willing to spend more you can get one that's like new, you might try looking for another transmitter while you're there also :p:

here is what ya do...it probally isn't ruined...my friend had this happen to him with his caddy... take the transmitter apart and take out the battery...leave it apart for a few days in a warm spot or in the sun...after it has been in a warm dry area for a few days..put a "new" battery in it and it should work
try it what do ya have to lose

I agree with Chuck. The IC components inside were saturated. You may want to stop at a Radio Shack or similar and pick up some component cleaner spray. That should displace any moisture. Put a new battery in, if it doesn't work right away, verify that it doesn't need reprogramming. (Fob more than 10 feet away, Key to On, Trip/Odo button twice, within 5 secs Fuel Info button, on DIC PKE light comes on, key to Off (not the lock position where key can come out), PK light flashes, bring the fob into range (its easy just to walk up behind and look through the rear window to see the PKE light stop flashing) and then either remove the key or back to on. Its programmed.)

If your successful great you saved $94. otherwise if its totally hosed, give Chris a call at Superior (price as above for a new on.).

I just had to replace mine dropped the darn thing on the floor and it broke apart.

Don't be so upset at wifey, I doubt it was done on purpose. It's only a hundred bucks, hardly worth getting upset over. Look at the bright side, if you have to replace it, you get a new one out of the deal and FYI the newer one's now have two screws in the back to make it easier for battery replacement whereas the older design the case was held together with pressure clasps. Note if you have the replace it the new one's have a smaller key ring, you might want to use the old ring if its in good shape because you can't put more than two keys on the new ring else its too tight. I only carry four keys two of them are the Vette's and that was two tight.

Good Luck... :seeya

heh funny you should bring that up,my cleanup animal washed my wallet just this morning. lol
she likes to launder my money it seems.hehe
i only wish i had a pke fob to wash.that would be an awesome feature.my motherinlaw just got an 98 cadilac and it doesnt even have that feature.
sadly my 92 has a light for it in the drivers info center but wasnt available yet till 93 (i think).
100 bucks for a new one, bummer.but not that big a deal.beats washing your own clothes.
i finally got in the habit of walking in the door and my pants dont come off till ive emptied my daily treasure into my sock drawer,(well, unless shes uncharacterisitically frisky that is)
take her out to dinner, she probly feels horrible about it.
