Black emblems or chrome emblems?
Has anyone changed their emblems from black to chrome like the 40th model? I like the chrome but also want to say original. Does anyone have pics of the chrome on their car?

Yeah - I did it. The black ones are OK but mine were worn to the point to see the base metal from waxing and polishing. I just had the paint redone and the chrome 40th ones were just too nice to pass up - :cool:
I'll try to get a pic posted showing them in better detail! Shoulda just bought a '93 since I've got '93 wheels and emblems on it, but it was hard enough finding a Black Rose 6-speed cloth interior coupe as it was!

I put the chrome ones on my '88. They just look better on a dark car IMHO. If I had a light color, I think I'd stick with the black emblems.

the chrome ones look better on darker cars, the black on lighter. When I got my vette, the front emble was chrome, the rear was black, now they're both black :D

Parts of the original emblem were fading, so when I was at Carlisle a few years ago, I bought the chrome "Collectors Edition" emblems.
I'm not trying to pass my car off as a collector's edition to the uneducated, but just simply switched them because I needed new emblems (front and gas door) and like the look of the chrome emblems.
This is the emblem I use on my black 89 corvette.

I'm wanting to do the same thing on my red 94 vert. I just added chrome wheels and I think the chrome emblems would help complete the look.
Wheres the best/cheapest place to get them from? I know all the usual venders sell them, but who has the best price?

Mine being a 35th anniversary came with chrome, But it sort of depends on the car. Im not a fan of chrome on cars much anymore, but a touch can look nice and go well with tail pipe tips, lug nuts, wheels, or whatever.

:withstupid: They do belong there. They look better on any color. Think about it they put it on the GS which is white where the emblems go and it looks great. And they put it on the 40th which is dark and they look great. I think the regular black emblems are drab.
