Default armrest spring replacement

Anyone ever had the spring in the armrest button break? Just curious if there's a way to use a different spring in there.

Yes, had it happen on my 93. It is just a thin piece of metal that is bent like a "C". I just ordered a replacement with some other parts I was getting. I got mine from Ecklers for around $4.00. I am sure you can get them cheaper than that though. I did that before I found this forum.

cool, thanks, that's pretty cheap. Just have to come up with something else as a quick fix.

Ahhh, it was a little late last night when I posted. It's the little button on the front of the console to open it? Got it. I never thought about it having a spring mechanism, but I guess so.

I've already broke two of em.

I'm going to figure something else out besides that stupid leaf spring.
