cleaned up the front calipers
here's what some degreasing and sandblasting can do for your old cruddy looking calipers. Now I have to decide whether or not to paint them, or just seal them with some clear.

Re: cleaned up the front calipers (edsalinas)
Thanks. I was thinking either red or black, but since I have a set of the black GS calipers on the car now, I might leave these stock so I could have the option put the car back to "original condition". The seals have 80K miles and will be replaced with a rebuild kit. Now I have to do the same for the rears.
If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't have the inspiration to dig into all this kind of stuff - many thanks to all who contribute!!!

They look great. If I ever get mine that clean I'll paint them, but I don't see that happening soon. Nice work.

Re: cleaned up the front calipers (Bugleboy84)
Thanks for all the positive comments.
The car had 79K miles on it when I purchased it, and the brakes and suspension were coated with black residue that was tenatiously bonded. You couldn't tell that the parts were aluminum. The degreasing got the oily stuff off, but did very little for the caked-on black crud. The sandblaster really makes the cleaning process easy.

Yeah I agree. I bought a blast cabinet and a 60lb blaster from "Harbor Frieght", I love it...............
Another thing I think is way too  ,
A small rock tumbler from a rock polishing place. Throw nuts & bolts in it with some walnut shell, they come out after a day looking like brand new......
