My sentiments exactly. If the kid would have actually paid for the car, he would have more respect - in general. But then again, affording a C5 wouldn't happen unless mommy gave it to him. One thing that never ceases to annoy me are kids with an attitude like that, but its all part of growing up. Whe he goes out into the world, he'll find out all about it.

Re: C4 versus C5 (RED-85-Z51)
When I still had my Nova and guys would get lippy on the street, I would tell them to meet me at the drag strip. We would run heads up if allowed or just compare best ET slips. If I was feeling confident, I'd tell them I'd refund their entry and buy the hot dogs if the beat me.
Sometimes the guys weren't as friendly and we never made it to the track so I had to show them what was up . . . . . I'll stop now! :D
But, I have not gotten into anything like this with vette.
As for you question, your L98 would take him (probably) stop light to stop light, but he'd get you in the quarter as the LS-1s are .7-1.0 second quicker typically.

Re: C4 versus C5 (dizwiz24)
Now, funnier yet I saw another auto C5, with a 250 pound driver and passenger get smoked by a Dodge Omni GLH. This happened in about august of 2002 at dragway 42 in ohio.
The Dodge Omni GLH ran 13.8 seonds, beating the C5 which ran 14.0 seconds.
I have seen that Omni go in the 13.30 range at dragway 42! A C5 running 14.0 needs a driver. :)
Diz Wiz, a few of us from the Forum go there everynow and then, watch the Great Lakes section for a post! Last time, I think we had 4 or 5 Forum members making runs.
Yes, there was RPO B2K, but that is/was some real big dollars. There is not a current aftermarket turbo system for C4's.
By the way, I am glad you dont have RPO B2K because you would add that to your already way too long list of RPO's in your sig. Have a heart and delete some of that stuff!
There were Turbo vettes from the factory so to speak i nthe late 80's wasnt there? RPO B2K or something?
Yes I own one of them. It was not available as a "kit" though. There were frame modifications as well as other engineering needs that made installation at Callaway necessary.
They did sell 1 "kit" it was never installed in a Vette, due to the complexity of the install. It sold on ebay last year.
Hey guys, while I was at the Homecoming parade the other night there was a kid there in a stock '00 Vette. I know its stock because its his moms car.
I guess Mom's can't drive Twin Turbos, huh? I wouldn't have even wasted my time cause I don't race other vettes, no matter what generation because I have respect for all. Just way too many gazelle out there to be feastng on rather than feasting on other cheetah. :D JMO
If you watch 2 fast and 2 furious it will make your moms car really fast just add the laptop and the 400 hp nos system on it and your ego gets really big to.Darn rich kids
I rode my bosses 2003 Z06 today and it completely embarrases my 89 Vert. It WILL NOT hook up in first or second and still pulls like no car I have ever driven. The only mods are a slammed suspension and a BMI shifter kit.
