burp cooling system
How do I Burp the cooling system after it has been drained ? I am getting the low coolant indicator occasionally but there is lots of juice in the system. :steering:

run the car until the t-stat opens all of the way and then shut it down. repeat this about 3 times. i think stock t-stats are 195. you could also drill 2 small holes (1/16") in the t-stat to skip this process. i did it on mine and never had to burp the system after a flush.

Open rad cap and start engine. Let it warm up till thermostat opens. Either have someone depress gas pedal or reach over and hold the throttle about 2000 rpm. The increased flow will lower level in rad. Add coolant till full,cap it and let off the gas. It may require this a couple of times to fully fill the coolant system.

Thanks. I'll try that. What is the coolant recovery bottle for? I thought it was a reservoir that the system called on when the level was too low.
