Sterring Problems?
I have a 84, Z-51 corvette that has 170,000 miles on it. I recently replaced all front end bushing and all ball joints and outer tie rods. However I didi not replace the inner tie rods yet, my car has alot of play in the steering wheel. Would replacing the rack and pinion sovle this problem or is it common for my year corvette to have this problem.

It may be common for a steering rack with 170,000 miles but not common of a corvette. Have someone turn the wheel left and right with the engine off while you watch all the steering components. You should be able to see where the deflection is comming from. Rebuilt racks are fairly cheap. I got a rebuilt Z51 rack for $165 canadian.
