This evening I was driving and hit a bump. All my interior lights came on and would not go off. Finally after I shut the car off and restarted it, then shut it off again the went off normally. Anyone have this happen? Any ideas why it happened and how to fix? Its a 1986.
Also when I first start the car there is a buzz at the back of the car. It doesn't sound like an electric fuel pump. Any ideas?
The light problem probably was one of the door or hatch buttons jamming. I have had that happen before. If it does not happen again don't worry about it. But it also could be your interior light timer is going up. You will know if one day you close the door and the lights don't go out after you turn the key!
As for the sound in the back it could be your electric antenna motor going up. See if you hear the noise right above your drivers side back wheel well. Good luk!

Re: Magic Lights and sounds (VettBrat)
LOL magic lights and sound.......your car's trying to do a trick for you. Do you give it enough attention? J/K :D Seriously though yes I've had this happen on my 90 and it was the sensor on the driver's door panel. Sometimes if it comes loose the lights will stay on. It has to be pushed in while the door's shut for the sensor to trip the lights so they go off. The bump might have misaligned it..or it may just be a kink temporarily in the ecm. An easy fix is to tape a nickel to the sensor pad on the hinge that contacts the door when it's shut. That way it gives extra length for the sensor to trip when the door's shut. Your buzzing sound could be the ABS goin wierd or it could just be the antenna trying to extend. Make sure you have the radio off before you shut the engine off or when you start the engine again the radio will come on automatically and so will the antenna if it's even that. :seeya
