CAU Automatic Shift knob adapter?

CAU Automatic Shift **** adapter?
Anyone tried this thing on a C4? It supposed to allow any aftermarket
shift **** to be used on an automatic... I'd like to find a cool aftermarket
shift **** for an auto but the choices are pretty limited.

I dont think this will work,I have just finished installing a Billet Aluminium C5 auto shift **** on my car and ran into several problems.The first major problem was the diameter of the hole in the shift **** itself.The standard auto **** on C4's is 17mm diameter and the C5 was only about 14mm.So I had a friend rebore the shift **** so that it was a tight fit.The shift **** has a strange U shaped clip/pin to lock the **** onto the gear stick.This no longer works when you rebore the diameter of the hole .I have had no problems so far.It is dark now so I cannot take any pics but I will get some by the weekend hopefully.So if you are buying the adapter check the diameter first as it may well be smaller than our C4's.

I thought I saw another thread about this and it was said that the C5s and late C4's (90+) could use this adapter ....I may be wrong...
