Hello all, I'm new to the boards and have an '89 coupe.
Does anyone know where I can source a flat replacement piece for the right side protruding piece of the dash?
Also, how does the top of the dash get removed? I've removed as many screws as I can see, including 2 screws in the defroster outlet, but I think theres some more screws underneath the speaker grilles that I'm hesitant to remove.
Be aware that others who have this piece (and a similar part offered by Eckler's) have noted that it's pretty flimsy. It wouldn't be that hard to make one for yourself out of masonite and grained leatherette.
Mid America also offered one at one time (maybe they still do) that has a little leatherette map pocket in it . . . that might be a nicer look.

Thanks for any info. :seeya
Dash, there are about 6 screws holding the front of the dash in place, 2 screws in the vents and one on each side, then just pull forward to unclip from the dash frame and lift up...comes right out....
I'm really smarter than that (really), but I'm working in cramped quarters where I can barely open the doors to get in, let alone check out the sides!
Thanks! :D
