A little afraid!
 Hey guys and gals, I have been reading this site for a few months but this my fisrt post. I have a c-3 that I reall enjoy and decided to purchase a
c-4. I found what I thought was a really good buy,but now I'm getting nervious(sp) I have found that almost any part that I take off has a film of dirt on it, bulbs, in the fuse box etc. Like maybe it was submerged? :nonod:
can someone please to a carfax or any type of search for me? Thanks in advance, Larry

Have there been floods where the car was?
Suggest you repost with the heading
" Carfax needed! please help"
That might get you more responses

maybe its been painted and the shop didnt cover the interior well when prepping.that can get fine dust everywhere.
if the price is right just figure in the labor to detail it out.
check underneath for damage.
what price range and how many miles?

According to a carfax that Victor was able to get for me, The car did come from florida, but did not have any signs of flooding... May have been in storage for quite some time, inspection was 2 years past due??? :skep:
Can you be more specific about the term "film"? If its like dust, I would think the threat about a repaint is possible and the storage. You'd probably see a water line if there was water damage, surely there would be a telltale sign. It may be a specific county thing but I'm not aware of any inspections in Florida for years now like 20 maybe.

Its almost like muddy water was present and the film is what would be left after it dried... It is just confusing??? Could be a West Texas dust, if it was in storage out there.
Carfax is not perfect they found my 91 Formula clean, and I smacked that car around a few times :D Including a little frame straighting, I know but what was I to do? throw it away? Anyways A used car manager I knew said he had a failsafe way to tell. No one ever thinks to clean the back of the brake pedal. This area should never get dirty normally, look for caked dirt not just dust, this will let you know
If you're feeling uncomfortable about this purchase, RUN, don't walk away.
Take your time and feel good about what you buy. There are MANY well priced C4's out there and one has your name on it.
I spent 6 months looking before I bought my first Corvette

Thanks, but I was not uneasy until after my purchase... I'll make the best of it either way and learn to love her as I love my other "children" :steering:
