I took too many stupid pills the other day and have been burned. Its my fault and should have seen it coming. My only chance of redemption is to pass along this gross error injudgement to hopefully prevent other CF members from stumbling into this same trap.
I am an eBay PowerSeller and have had over 400 successful transactions. For the most part everyone on eBay is helpful. Most people sell as a business or are trying to get rid of junk around the house and they are the ones that are not out to get you.
About 1 in every 50 people are bad apples. Unfortunately they give eBay a bad name and make newcomers skeptical which hurts the other sellers like myself. I wish there way some way to weed them out before it is too late but it's not always possible.
I can vouch that eBay doesn't take this lightly and will be willing to lend a hand. It might take a while and a little effort on your behalf but I'm sure you will be able to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
If you need any eBay advice, let me know!
High feedback numbers are a very good sign of a legitimate E-bay'er.
As lb33Knight said, E-bay takes scammers very seriously. If word got out that they didn't their entire reputation (and business) would be in jeapordy. It's hard enough to get a high positive feedback (time to run the auctions etc) so because most crooks are lazy anyway it's not worth their time to run up a high user rating only to scam a few people before E-bay shuts them down. If someone is a new seller it's wise to be more cautious but even then try to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I always use the "ask seller a question" before I bid on anything (unless it's a power seller). Asking a few simple questions can give you a good idea of the person you're dealing with.
I've bought and sold items on ebay and for the most part it worked out fine.
I have had a couple sellers try to inflate their S & H many times over the actual cost. Both times when I asked them if it was a typo and If not I would post what they charged verus what it cost and they dropped the S & H to a more
reasonable price. their AD said "buyer pays S & H" not actual S & H.
Of course than can charge $15 to put a decal in an envelope with a stamp on it and say that that is their handling charge.
Just one thing to watch out for.

Re: Ebay Scammer ALERT!!!!!! (lb33knight)

Thanks for your offer lb33knight. My ebay record (70+positive 0 negative) isn't quite as long as yours. However unlike this seller, I have never misrepresented an item. A few months ago I missed shipping a package and the buyer contacted me after waiting over two weeks. I lost money on the deal and shipped it overnight. To me, honesty and good service is what matters the most.
As your aware of, sometimes its easy to spot a bad deal. I walked into this deal and should have seen it coming. My fault. The product was improperly described and not even close to the advertised photo. The good part is, I have just had contact with the seller tonite and says he is willing to refund my money. I'll remain skeptical until the money is returned to my account. Even if my money is returned, I still stand behind this topic title.
I'm mulling over leaving Neutral Feedback. If the money is returned, then a note about poor product quality is in order.
As for details..... I plead the Fiftyth Amendment. Thats the one where stupid people get one last chance.

I agree, but it also depends. I have low feedback numbers since I don't do a lot of transactions. I've only sold one item and bought maybe 35 or 40. It's all positive though.
