The clean lines, and the subtle style of the C4 is going to be classic corvette 25 years from now. It will go down as one of the best looking cars ever. It has a clean, ready to explode, no flash, all business look to it. :auto:

My 90 C4 is often stared at for as long as someone is near
me. If I stop at a coffee shop I receive many compliments.
Driving on the California highways people pass me to get
a look at the front.

In my mind the C4 has the best appearance. Sleek, sexy and
very nice lines. I can afford a new C5 or C6 and would appreciate
the additional power and latest technology. However, these
just mentioned models are not sporty looking to me.....they are
wonderful cars but not for me........

At a stop light with my silver 88 with ZR-1 rims, a 14 year old kid yells out of his dad's mini van "that car is dope" and gives me the AC/DC devil sign!
Ah yes, that story reminds me of a similar thing that happened to my car last summer. I was cruising down this four lane boulevard street on the river front in our city, you know, two lanes each side bricked and landscaped boulevard median down the middle with pedestrian crossings each block. Downtown on one side, river overlook on the other w/ very wide bricked sidewalk. Lots of street lights overhead. Riverboat casino boarding pavillion complex w/ bar & restaurants further up the boulevard with some colored neon lighting, etc., and the casino's hotel on the other side of the street. Popular local bar w/ bands next to the casino hotel and on warm weekend nights the Harley davidson crowd gathers there, bikes shined up and showcased. Okay, so I'm tooling down this boulevard last summer on a weekend night, top down on the 'vert, and earlier that day I had done a detail job on her. The neon and street lights were reflecting nicely on her, dancing accross her skin in an almost carressing manner as I cruised lazily, slowly past a newer model Chevrolet Tahoe XL (or was it a Suburban?) that was in the righthand lane of travel. Its full of kids in the back, 14, maybe 15 years old, and must have been their older brother and his sister or gf up front. They speed up to pace along side me and I hear one of the boys in the back say to his buddy, "Hey <insert forgotten name here>, check out this car by us!" Then I hear "SWEEEET!" ring out, and they're eyeballing my '95 as she glides along side of them. Alas, I hear one of them reply, "What is it!?...", as if they have spotted some not often seen exotic. I wanted to let them know the proud nameplate she bears, but they made a righthand turn into the museum of arts and sciences lot, where I suspect they were to meet up with others of their ilk

Hang on to those C4's, with that huge footprint, they are very sinister and foriegn to that young generation. My nephew is 14 and uncle Rich has the badest car in the family tree, can't wait till he's 16 and he can take her for a ride! These monsters will get chicks 20 years from now.

Admit it, how many of us like the looks of the Audi TT, or the 350Z, or the S2000, or the MR2? Diff'rent strokes...

Well, I like em all. But for some reason, the sports car era of the C4 just seemed a lot more exciting to me. The Supras, 300ZXs and RX7s were all cars that I fell in love with. The sports cars in that era just seemed tohave it. However, I must admit, this sports car era is pretty damn good too with the cars that you just mentioned.

Don't sweat it.. if it's not the "latest and greatest" most girls don't have a clue. I remember my best friend in HS told some girls about his dads vette.. they ended up coming over to his house later and we showed off his dads Vette.. they all had the :nonod: look on thier face when we took the car cover off.. their only remark was, "Oh, it's an OLD one.."

It is an all original, original owner 63 Split in Gold condition. :smash:

Oh, I remembered a few things she DID LIKE about the vette  :D She really liked the huge glass hatch that wrapped all the way around (art students like glass  ). Also she commented on the clam shell hood and the fact that the engine "went all the way from tire to tire" :D

The mini Cooper, man that's been around a long time. Hot ad's maybe brought it back. I remember in the early 70's seeing the my first Honda Accord (they only made motorcycles before that) and it was that size or smaller of a Cooper. I said it it finds the wrong pot hole it will disappear and never be found again. Bicycle tires are bigger then those on that car.

Back in the day there was only muscle cars and sports cars that the young wanted. There was no rice cars or so few. The prices were within reasonable reach of the young generation for power and so was gas and insurance until Ralph Nader. Today the Corvettes for the most part are not, except older versions but the newer ones at their prices no way unless you want huge debt. That's what most see in ad's new ones so they know they aren't going to get it. So they go with the tricked out cars. Most of them are asian and that's what they see. My nephew knows about Corvettes and muslce cars most likely from me because of the cars I had and the books and stuff. I ask him what he likes and his friends as they are going on 16 and he says the rice cars. They like all the stuff on there, hey that's the way it is.

Most (and said most) of the New Corvettes are the 45 and older crowd. Look who can afford them at 50-60K. Same thing with Harley's. Most likely a lot of those girls dad's or relatives have them so they associate that with them. They see all of their friends with rice cars and asian bikes.

"Fly slimmies, that cars dope, game on".
Wats up wit dat? Ghetto rap?
Fly slimmies, = goofy teens with a wieght problem? Or worse yet flighty chicks on crank?
Cars on dope, = a pimp ride carring drugs? Or maybe the drivers under the influence of glue?
Game on, = Radio Shack commerical?
What ever happened to rapping to the fuzz can you dig it?
Don't mean to diss the bro's but???????????

I for one love the style of the C4. It's beautiful and subtly stated :yesnod: It hints back at the C3 stingrays yet looks ultra modern  Unfortunately, it just not what the ladies get excited about these days :( 2 examples....

First one, back in the summer, cruising around town with my brother and a few friends. Bro's got his silver MCS and I'm crusing the Vette  We pull into one of the ballpark parking lots and there's some fly slimmies standing at the edge of the parking area. Bro rolls by, gives a rev, the girls all "scream" and say how cool it is and how cute it looks (I can hear all this as I'm crusing topless  ) I roll up next, give a rev (still stock exhaust, but sounds fine) :D , girls go "eh, that's alright" :( ....ouch :banghead:

Second story: Last night I go over to meet a friend at his house. He wasn't there yet, so I go chill with one of his female housemates, to wait till my friend comes back from work. So I notice all these cool pictures going by in her screen saver slide show. I start talking about photography and she mentions how she just got a new digi-cam this past x-mas, 3MP. Ok, alls cool. She's got some photos on some online photo forum and eventually I tell her about the new Photo-chat forum where some of my pics are :) Ok, I'll cut to the chase now: Looking through my photos she found pics of my Vette. Sweet  She says, "You've got a Corvette?". I say, "yup, that's my Vette". Next thing she say, "Looks pretty flat" :bb :nonod: I say, "well, it's got subtle styling...". Only slight acknowledgement of that :( ....swing and a miss, strike 2 :smash:

I guess the girls only really go for the Vette once you get 'em in the passenger seat and blast off!!

Must have been young girls  The MCS is nice but compared to a Vette....Please
I guess if you had a Riced out Honda civic with a fartcan on it it would have been all    .......please.
Your Vette is fine just the company is not.
Post a pic of this girl that said your vette is "plain" and let us give our opinon of her. Bet she is "plain" too
On the other hand I do get different looks with my 01 MR2 Spyder then I do with the Vette.

In summing this up as I always say "to each his own".

Are you sure she didn't say "Looks pretty PHAT"? That would be a compliment dude.

It all comes down to the nut behind the steering wheel. Chicks like cute, fresh designs like the Cooper. Heck, I like the Cooper too! It just looks like a death trap to me. I guarantee even an old '60s-era Cooper would get the same attention if it were polished cream puff.

Older Corvettes are fine attention getters. Just don't pull in and expect the same treatment from a crowd that just been "wowed" by a brand new Cooper or a Viper, etc!

The response I get is very favorable with me just subtly rolling up with the cam loping and not expecting to let the car do all the work for me. The car is meant to compliment YOU. How ever bitchin your car may be, you have to carry yourself in a way that lets people know that you are the point of attention, and your car is the complimentary afterthought! The C4 is not exactly at the top heap in regard to being a no-questions-asked "babe magnet", but as long as you're confident in the fact that it's the car YOU choose and that YOU love the most, that's what makes it work in your favor.

This is the car I drooled over when I was 16 and just old enough to drive my dad's old Ford pickup to the Chevy dealership to dream. My car is all about how I respect and keep alive my own dreams from my days of (relative) innocence. ;) It's not about trying to flaunt it to women as if I'm the king daddy of cool. If that's the case, there will always be women who dig it, and others who will enjoy spiting you just because it's not a sparkling new 2004 model. If you want to hang diamonds in front of a woman to get guaranteed positive attention, make sure they are the finest available because materialistic gold diggers are finicky about the stuff their bragging rights are made of.

Also take note. GROUPS of women are far more judgemental and vicious than a woman on her own. They have to prove their "standards" to each other. That's one of the ways they establish status amongst themselves.

On the other hand if you want to meet women, pulling up in a clean C4 is an excellent way to make an entrance. The trick is to actually exit the car and put yourself out in front of it so they don't think the car is all you're worth.

If you meet a hottie at the volleyball park who dumps on you the first time some gold-tooth looser pulls up in the latest & greatest vehicle, relish in the sight of her walking away. Chicks like that are not worth the trouble or the time it takes to wax your rod. ;)

Saturday after our clubs detail party, I was driving home on the interstate at a nice rate of speed, when a red Malibu came along side, stayed there for a while, then sped up and cut infront of me. With her long hair blowing out the window, she waved and gave me a thumbs up. Yep, the C4 still draws attention. I could hear Bob Dole saying "easy boy" :lolg:

I had a kid do the "Grey Pupon" commercial (aka "Wayne's World") signal to me to roll down my window once, so I did. He yells out of his mom's beater, "Niiiiiiice Vette!" First off, my car wasn't spit shined, and second, this kid looked to be about 13-14. That would make him 5-6 when my car was new. *That's* appreciation of a fine automobile. :flag
