I for one love the style of the C4. It's beautiful and subtly stated :yesnod: It hints back at the C3 stingrays yet looks ultra modern  Unfortunately, it just not what the ladies get excited about these days :( 2 examples....
First one, back in the summer, cruising around town with my brother and a few friends. Bro's got his silver MCS and I'm crusing the Vette  We pull into one of the ballpark parking lots and there's some fly slimmies standing at the edge of the parking area. Bro rolls by, gives a rev, the girls all "scream" and say how cool it is and how cute it looks (I can hear all this as I'm crusing topless  ) I roll up next, give a rev (still stock exhaust, but sounds fine) :D , girls go "eh, that's alright" :( ....ouch :banghead:
Second story: Last night I go over to meet a friend at his house. He wasn't there yet, so I go chill with one of his female housemates, to wait till my friend comes back from work. So I notice all these cool pictures going by in her screen saver slide show. I start talking about photography and she mentions how she just got a new digi-cam this past x-mas, 3MP. Ok, alls cool. She's got some photos on some online photo forum and eventually I tell her about the new Photo-chat forum where some of my pics are :) Ok, I'll cut to the chase now: Looking through my photos she found pics of my Vette. Sweet  She says, "You've got a Corvette?". I say, "yup, that's my Vette". Next thing she say, "Looks pretty flat" :bb :nonod: I say, "well, it's got subtle styling...". Only slight acknowledgement of that :( ....swing and a miss, strike 2 :smash:
I guess the girls only really go for the Vette once you get 'em in the passenger seat and blast off!!

You expect chicks to appreciate horsepower more than frilly cute styling? :nonod:

"looks pretty flat"... typical of the current SUV and mini van culture we live in. 'Spose she's one of the people that either drives or wants to drive a full size SUV just because "I like to sit up high..." But I could be wrong.
Driving with the top off, some girls in a JEEP (top off) cruise next to me hooting and saying nice ride. (two days ago)
Was late to an appointment and drove past the address. I burned a U-ie. Some high school girls hanging out at this small park were all hooting and hollering. (last month)
Got flashed at a stop light after I put a layer of rubber at the light before for some girls in a vert Stang. (Last year) (but they were listening to a radio station that I listen to and sometimes chicks who like that station will flash you if you got their bumper sticker on your car. I dont, but they could hear I was listening to it too.)
Re: C4 styling: no longer "with it"? (lilblackvette)
If you have to rely on your car to get women then you have no game at all.
I didn't mean to imply that I was using my corvette as part of "my game". A lot of the time, I don't even bring it up. It just this time, she was looking through my pictures and saw that I had a Vette.
I wasn't trying to point out difficulties of just picking up women. I was just saying that many find the C4 Vette styling very bland when a lot of us love the style

Hmm, you might be on to something. Although she's an art student and I would expect her to more of an econobox person...BUT, after noticing I had a vette she said, "hey, you're the guy with the truck right?" (she must've seen it another time I was over). Said, "yeah, that's me" and she immediately jumped to the window to look for it  hmmmmmm....
yup,the c4 series is the blandest of all the vettes imho.not that its a bland looking auto by any means, but when you compare it to the curves and waves of all the others you have to admit the lines are definately more subdued.
look at the height difference in the frt fender swells compared to a c3 from the drivers seat.the difference is pretty dramatic.
for me what it took was a few walkarounds of the c4 to fall in love.i mean, theres really no bad angle with a c4.and the lines flow together seemlessly to make for a cleaner total package.
many of my non-vettte owning friends commented on the subtleness of the c4 compared to the c3's.
i think if its a first impression wow the chicks affect your after, dont go for the c4.but if you add up all the high tech engineering thats in a c4 compared to earlier models, and your a car nut,the c4 is just one heck of a car for the price we can buy them for today.nice too that all c4s are worth the time, but you can buy one in a range of 5k to 20k and still have a ball, depending on how much you can afford.
what more could we ask really?
As for the C4 being 'flat', it's not as 'curvy' as the C2, C3 or the C5. And, the C4 was made for so many years that it's one of the most commonly seen also; therefore, less impressive, to some people anyway.
On the other hand, you certainly can't say it's a bad looking car, unless you mean 'bad' in a 'good' sorta way.
Well they sure stare at me when I drive around LSU, maybe youre just ugly.
:jester
....................DUDE,YOU STEPPED RIGHT IN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT ONE.SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO GET YOU ONE OF THEM MCS THINGIES.YOU ARE GONNA CATCH SO MUCH GRIEF ON THIS,BUT HEY,YOU OPENED THE DOOR................. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
i find that i get a lot more attention from women when teh targa top is off. You are right that C4s are all to commonly seen but a targa top isnt that common. otherwise i really dont let it bother me. i didnt buy the car cause chicks love it. i bought it cause I fell in love with it
(but they were listening to a radio station that I listen to and sometimes chicks who like that station will flash you if you got their bumper sticker on)[/QUOTE] ................................W.O.W BABY.
The average age of a vette owner, given by motortrend,is 41.6.So when collage or high school girlies look at the car, assumption arises that its someone that probably looks like their father.I get the same reaction in mine until I tell them i'm 25.Then let the flirtation begin. And they will do ANYTHING to get a ride :D (as long as they are over 18.I'm not R Kelly) :jester
At a stop light with my silver 88 with ZR-1 rims, a 14 year old kid yells out of his dad's mini van "that car is dope" and gives me the AC/DC devil sign! Subtle styling, no way these things are killers. Make sure you have big meats on all fours, and a healthy sounding exhuast, the chicks love planting their bottoms in those leather seats every time. They seem to love mine.

Young girls like new cars? So what's unusual about that? Our beloved Corvette has styling that's 20 years old, of course its not going to appeal to high school girls.
Don't anyone let it bother you....
I'd say the styling has held up remarkably well over those years. I think it is still one of the three most beautiful cars ever made. (the other being the GT40 and the Cheeta)
And the performance is still in the top 1%, easy.
Admit it, how many of us like the looks of the Audi TT, or the 350Z, or the S2000, or the MR2? Diff'rent strokes...
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
