Haven't needed to read codes yet-I was talking with a friend about paper clip for reading codes, when he said the digital Ohm meter will actually show the numerical such as 32 on the meter, anyone try this?
Re: Will digital Ohm meter really work? (rick lambert)
Ummm... no. That doesn't make any sense at all. Where would you place the leads for the Ohm meter, in the same place as the paper clip would go? If so, that line is simply a diagnostic mode selector on the ECM. It only changes the mode in which the computer is operating.
There is a method of displaying the actual codes on the digital dash and being able to cycle through them with the fuel and trip buttons but it still requires the paper clip trick.
