Rear Window Hatch Vent ?
Everyone seems to have those rear window hatch vent brackets. I've seen them in Mid America and Eckler's magazine for $30 - $40. Is there anywhere else these can be purchased for less $ ?

Here you go. This one's cheaper and a very simple design.....not much to break. I've had mine for almost three years and I use it a lot.

For my money I'd rather spend the $6 extra for the MidAmerica part.

And then you can spend another $30 when the MidAmerica part breaks ;)

I think they're great to relieve the heat while parked but when driving the hatch creaks way too much and I'm worried about it breaking!! So I'm back to only using it while parked!

That's one of my concerns with this, since the roads around here blow.. Larry(longhorn) has one, and drives with it all the time(up) and has never had a problem... I'm concerned about the glass shattering on a huge bump.

Re: Rear Window Hatch Vent ? (JB666)
Whenever my roof panel is off, my rear glass is up using my Hatch Vent. I have gone over pretty bumpy roads with no shattered glass. What exactly would cause the glass to shatter? I suppose it would need to come in contact with something to shatter. Are you suggesting that the mounting points are causing stress when the glass rocks? I guess it is possible, but I would think it would require a major blow to shatter it.

I've been using the one from Corvette Central for a couple of years and drive with it in place a lot. It smoothes the turbulent air flow through the interior by allowing the air to exit the rear of the car. It makes driving with the top off much more comfortable and quite.

Re: Rear Window Hatch Vent ? (Wheelman)
Whatever you do, don't buy the brand name "hatch vent" that looks like a thick piece of wire all bent up...garbage.
Uh...
Anyone want to buy a the original "hatch vent" :D
Wheelman, they allow the cabin to be less turbulent and let the air flow through the cabin by cracking the hatch glass open an inch or so...
BTW...if you have loose papers in the car with a vent on and go 120 MPH+, the papers will get sucked out the back of the car.
At least that's what I've heard :D
