From what I experienced when I had the same problem, that is simply untrue. The acrylic is bonded to the aluminum frame with a very specific adhesive. It is very sticky, yet pliable to allow for different expansion rates between the acrylic and the frame. I took mine to an automotive glass shop and they had the correct Fusor brand 2 part adhesive, and the special primer needed to adhere the pieces together. The advice was straight from Killebrew himself.
