bose woze
my left rear speaker on my 91 coup began growling, squeeling, screeming whats wrong? is it shot? or what? anyone out there experience this? where do I get parts or speaker? Thanks

I had the same problem with my 95. Same speaker in fact. I removed the speaker and found water in the space behind the speaker. Apparantly the water was spalshing on the amp causing the problem. I dried out the water in the amp using a blow drier and then sealed the seams in the area behind the speaker with silicone. No problems since! Pull it out and see what's up. I would like to know what you find.

The speaker is probably toast when they squeal and pop. You can send it back to Bose for a rebuild for about $75 (a real pita) or ship it off to Eckler's for rebuild for $100. I've had rear speaker problems in two C4's and the first time I sent it off to Bose (took forever!) and the second one I shipped off to Eckler's. Either way, the sound was restored and I was happy with the end result.
