Glass Top Inserts
It's getting hot out here in Southern California -- has anyone had any experience with inserts that fit inside a glass top and supposedly keep heat out while still letting you see through the glass? Ecklers and Mid America both have them for around $25.00.

I've used mine for two years (from Ecklers) and I love it. Keeps the sun off my folicly challenged head, but still allows me to see through to a great degree. Since my interior is black, it also helps protect from the sun heating it up as much as it did without it. Hope that helps.

I had one on my 86 coupe as the NC sun would get a little overbearing at times.

I think the better unit to buy is MidAmerica's Headliner Blackout, part # 612-743. It sells for $59.99 and makes the $24.99 Top shades look like a usuless screen. I've had these units in my last two cars (just got the one for my new ZR-1) and drove in Calif, all over Ariz, Nevada, etc. Temps well over 115 degrees and they provided same insulation as if I had the solid top on. Easy to install, excellent delivery service and price performance. Hope this helps. Bill
