Personally, I'm not a fan of stock. I think just about any car should be made your own and a vette is no exceptioin. There are too many options to make the car perform better, to look even better, and to better fit ones style. If your style is stock, then so be it, but don't come down on us that want to (in our opinions) improve our vette. I also don't look at a corvette as a longterm investment, but more over as a means of enjoyment in one of Americas greatest past times. DRIVING A CORVETTE. :steering: So let the odometer roll and the miles past by in a blur.
Pure Vettes are fine when you are looking at the first 2 generations. They fetch the best dollars. For our C4's, there are still a lot of them on the road. To each his own as to what they want to do to them. I have seen some that I would not give $1.00 to buy because they are not my taste. But, to leave it factory is not me either. I think the C5 rims (any style) look better on the C4 than any C5, but that is my opinion. That is what I love. If you don't like a radio channel, there are plenty more to choose from...just enjoy!

Re: Intergenerational Co-mingleage? (JIMMY Z'S86)
I vote vacation. Maybe also a chill pill. It is my vette and I will mod it however I see fit. I am very proud of my 96. I think the Z06 style wheels greatly improve the appearance. Any time I take it to an event someone is always asking me where I got them and how much they cost. Several people on the forum and in my town have bought them because they liked the way they look on my car.

:iagree: Those wheels look great... Hell, most of us waited a while to get these cars, we should enjoy them while we have them
i go back to 72 and had my first vette. it was a 66. the first thing i did was put headders and clean exhaust on it. back then if you remember it was whomever was fastest was king of the road. we modified everything back then. now a younger generation is doing the same thing, more power to em, a vette is a raw canvas to be personalized by its owner, be proud of the freedom and indvidualism we have with our cars, and our country. you have yours your way, and i have mine myway. thats what makes us uniquek. forgive the spelling if its wrong please. wouldn't this be a bland world if all cars were the same as those in charge of making them, had us keep them that way? :flag
I go back to the same era and I don't think changes harm the car. I had a 63 that I cut the side vents to look like GS. Even put in the 2 little bars. Also put Mickey Thompson 5 spokes on it. But, things were different back then. I still say the only Vette I ever saw that I did't like was a 58 painted a dark green with 'genuine imation, perto-chemical, wood grain, stick-on' coves. :U
And, I think it had a 67 hood scoop on it. My 72 was a mouse with a rat hood and Eagle decals on the rear 1/4 panels. Hood painted with red stripes in the center with dark blue on the raised parts. It sure got a lot of nice compliments from folks, and it was done in 87 not after 9/11.
