Re: whats wrong with rain? (mitymek)
Being a Cali driver... I don't think rain is an issue.
Going fast on the huge meat under me in my quasar blue vert on a wet surface is a bit unnerving, but not unmanagable if you pay attention to your land speed, and as for the few particles that stick to the vette as I drive by... so what.
I drive a vette... in the rain too... and the eyes are on me...
I know that because I watched the guys and gals driving them before I got mine.
And to tell ya the truth... I like being in a car that can DRIVE me out of a problem like this car can, as opposed to sitting in my minivan when it rains and I need to take evasive action because some moron in a Acura decides to take the roadway in a 360/540/720 with a half twist off the ramp because they left their house 15 minutes too late to make it to work on time without being docked.
The Corvette was made to be driven by people that know how to drive. The factory put the all basics in the car for the driver to take advantage of. I spent the better part of my life watching happy Corvette owners drive their cars all over the planet. I was envious then because I wasn't ready to spend the EXTRA money a Corvette takes. My wife bought me the vert. And even though I wasn't looking to change my daily driver again, when I realized that I only live once, and the woman I love knew I loved cars so much she bought me one of the cars I said I admired in a moment of... male frailty, intoxication and pleasure, to drive... I know that piloting the BOB JR vette down the roadway in any weather that the Gods throw at me is a good thing... that's why she got me the vert (yes I think God's a woman... ever seen a platapus or a giraffe... only a woman would design them)
Drive in the rain... Hell yes...
Do I pay extra attention when I do... of course.
And it's worth the hundred bucks to get the car detailed every once in a while. Looking at the smiling faces I see when I drive by.
I don't drive mine in the rain for the simple reason I like a clean engine bay.
:iagree:
my paint sucks right now, but i like to keep my engine clean. i don't plan on driving in it, but if i get caught i don't really care. i just don't feel as safe, especially on the highway.
