You sound like the kind of person who needs to lease.
Have you looked at the 3-series BMW's? They're very nice.

hmm. well i agree w/ some of what u r saying, but i disagree some also. i love the c4, it is am amazing looking car. i am in a similar situation as 92BlackRoseconv. my 92 is goin up for sale and my next vette is probably going to be a c5 (after being set on a zr1 for some time now, i decided on a c5). i'm not trying to hop on the c5 bandwagon, but i don't think u r giving the c5 enough credit. if u go to the c5 forum and see some of those cars those guys have, u have to admit that the c5 is also a sweet looking car (especially with rims, etc) and alot of those guys know what vettes r all about. noone i've talked to claimed alot of problems for the c5, the column lock for example is a $50 fix. "is there a zr1 like 5th generation" ? i think the z06 is a great car dont you? i prefer the zr1, but the z06 is unbelievable. i want to try a c5 for the ride, handling, the LS1, the look (which i dont mind except for a straight shot from behind), and the ease to mod the car due to the endless choices of parts from the aftermarket. i just thought there was alot of generalization in your post. just my opinion, but after spending some time researching in the c5 forum, there r more real vettes fans in that forum than guys who just drive a new style vette for status w/ no clue. and even if i do switch to the 5, the c4 community is just awesome, and i'll still be in here as often.

(Wait about 6 more months, when the C6's come out the C5 prices will drop like a rock, then you will be able to pick one up real cheap! )Quote
I agree but I think it will take over a year when the used C6's start coming out, then the C5's will really start coming down. You could get into a nice clean 98 coupe with around 50k for around $20k-$18k. C5's are great but I think that if you wait you will be less likely to take the C6 price drop.

Wonder if he still thinks this? To me it still looks like a brand new state of the art body

The c5 and c6 can't really be told apart in generation to non corvette fans.

If the c5 is all nice and clean they still blend with the new stuff. Though I get the same comments about my car. When I say it's a 96 I get a weird look.
