u wanna call sumbody f*ckn retarded? huh? i like my musicl oud, and ilkl listen to it the way i like, and i wasj ust sayin what my set up was, my subs amp is only 600 watts, my reg speakers r 1500, but its pwoering 4 speakers, so itsn ot 1500 at each speaker, im just sayin, but anyway, dont clal me retarded, especially if u live close to me.....
Ooh, internet tough guy...I'm scared. Really.

You are the main cause that sound laws are being tightened up. You drive around with your system blaring, proud of the fact that you can annoy everyone else on the road/proximity. Sorry to tell you this, but nobody thinks that is cool, except maybe other morons like yourself. Everyone else just looks on in disgust, then people like me who are into the hobby for the enjoyment of the music(without annoying everyone around us) get the bad rap for having systems in our cars.

Also, throwing out peak power ratings of your amplifiers shows exactly how little you know about car audio. You don't brag about peak power. If you decide to brag about your power(which is really pointless anyway), you should look up how much continuous r.m.s. power that your amps put out, at the impedance load you are running them at.

Okay, I'm jumping off my soapbox now. Please boom responsibly.

I kind of want to know exactly which amp you are running, not just kenwood, i want the model number.
I'm guessing that at most, with his "600 watt" and his "1500 watt" mid/high amp...he may have 300 rms on the sub, and possibly 150 watts x 4 for his other speakers...maybe. The 1500 watt rating makes me a little suspicious, and it sounds like it could be a Pyramid/Pyle "1500" watt amp that really makes about 70 watts per channel.

TheWacoKid, I agree, I was trying to tell him there is noway he is running a true 1500watts. I had systems at 400watts louder than my friends with their 2000watt lanzar amps. If he had 1500watts in his vette his heart would STOP!

car audio is MATH you have to do you math to make it sound good.

"Pyramid/Pyle "1500" watt amp that really makes about 70 watts per channel. "

it has to be a cheapo amp

Well, it is math and installation skills. I have seen installs with huge amounts spent in equipment but installed poorly outperformed by systems that cost a hell of a lot less, but were installed well.

Personally, I like it. I think it is a very clean looking set up. Now you could build a false floor and you would never know its even there!

I personally think a stereo loosk better if you make it look "factory installed" but... being unique is good too.

Nice choice on the cd player. I just replaced my Eclipse with the Clarion DX745MP. The unit looks great since you can match the color to the Vette illumination. I wish I would have seen it earlier, but the Eclipse made its way into our Jeep. The POS Alpine in the Jeep has needed to be replaced for the past few years. Actually, it started giving me problems after about a year. I also have some Boston Acoustics 4X6 plates in the front and a 10" Elemental Design E10K sub in a fiberglass enclosure in the rear storage bin. All of it is powered by a Hifonics amp. You can see anything and the rear of the car looks completely stock. I mounted the Hifonics amp behind the drivers seat and this is the only thing you can see, but it isnt that noticable. I like the stealth look and keeping everything stock so that was a major consideration when deciding to put in an audio system. It was well worth it to me to keep it all hidden. Too bad there really isnt much room to hide amps in these cars.

I guess i would have to vote to move your amp out of site and/or maybe build a false bottom. you can go the flame route if you want but its just my opinion. personally i want to make my stereo as un suspicious as possible. that way ppl that get in are surprised when i turn on the radio and the sound is crystal clear and they didnt think anything of the "stock" system. but like i said thats my opinion. it up to you. if you DO go the flame route please post pics! i guess some ppl may not like it but im always curious to see custom done stuff to C4s.

I replaced all my speakers in the stock locations, 4.25 front and 6x9s in rear, I mounted the amp on the rear vertical panel under the sun shade. I like it, it looks good, but doesn't really take up mutch space, and has plenty of cooling.
