Default Summit...Singing Their Praises

After completely fouling up my order Summit made good on their promise to correct the mistake. The new cam kit arrived Wednesday via Fredex. My faith is restored!

I'll say it again, I wish Summit would buy out Ecklers and the rest of them.

I knew they'd come through for ya. Everybody makes mistakes. What seperates the good companies from the bad ones is how they handle those mistakes.

They sent me the wrong guage pod once. They sent me the single when I wanted the double. I called them up and they had me a new one in no time. I could sent my single one back to them for a refund but I sold it on the forum for the same price.

I was all praises myself - that has changed

My muffler can (high polished) came dented in the box.
I proptly called, they asked if it was shipping damage - I said I could not point the finger at that, as it may have been warehouse damage

They said for me to pay to ship it back, then they would reimburse me for that and send a new one...
I said NO, I ordered the muffler so it could be installed BEFORE I put t in a National Corvette show, replacing the blemished one that was on there.
They said, if I bought another one, they would cover next day shipping - That was OVER A WEEK AGO :mad
I also asked them to open tha box prior to shipping, then repack it better - they said they could not guarantee that but would try

There is my recent experience w/ them...Complete

Well they still do a whole lot more than most companies of that size. At least they are willing to work with ya! Sorry it didn't work out. My experience has been a very positive one with them.

So I called customer service - I asked WHERE IS MY MUFFLER - they said it is to be at my house today, ground shipping

I asked about next day, they said no record of that :mad

I explained why I had ordered the part 2 weeks before I needed it, and how I am screwed over on having it put on now The guys response was to offer me a 25 dollar voucher off my next purchase...

Since I live in the here & now, I asked him what about today - what can he do for me
He said nothing else.

I asked for his manager - he politely got him on the line.

After explaining the situation, I said the voucher would be useless without instant resolution - he agreeed.

I told him how the guy before said "I can always refuse the package if I don't want it"

He on the spot, offered me 50% off my current order en route and the 25 buck cert.

I WILL do business again, with a turnaround like that Good customer service, too bad I had to demand it...

i've spent a LOT of money with summit... i think they are GREAT... but every once in a while you do have to force the issue a little even when THEY did the screwing up (which isn't often), but ultimately they will resolve to satisfaction.

you know why they cnanot guarantee tht? The place where the phones are answered, isnti nthe same location as the warehouse. so they have no control (from the phoneroom) over goods being shipped.[

Just last week I called them to order some fairly expensive parts. they told me they were out of stock but expected to have them in two weeks. I said, no problem. Then he asked me if I could wait while he called the manufacturer. After a short wait he came back on and said that the manufacturer said it would be a couple of months. I explained that I would have to check around then and he, of course, understood. They could have taken my money and jerked me around but they went the extra mile for my benefit and I really appreciated that. They've gotten my business before and they'll get it again.
