Restore additive question.

That stuff is crap.
I took apart a motor that someone had used the stuff in and it had setteled into a thick putty in the bottom of the pan and in the valve train areas. CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Slick 50. It seems to have helped that motor live. I have 234,000 miles
on it. Oil pressure is 65 lbs hot, compression on 5 of 6 cylinders is
140 +, #6 is 120. However, I would NEVER use anything like that,
or any other product in my vette. Mobil 1 every 3,000 miles and a
HIGH QUALITY filter only. My 96 coupe has 90,000 and uses no oil.
Why risk trouble.

Redline injector cleaner works great.
Don't use anything but Mobil 1 period (obviously if you want to use other quality synthetics like Amsoil, Redline, Royal Purple that is ok 2)

You put one can in the car and drive it. It works, too.
Years ago I used it in a smoking water-cooled VW that I bought for my son as his first car. Even though I think all those additives are snake oil, I put a can of Restore in the engine (nothing to lose) and ....guess what...the smoking stopped. Stopped for three years, it did! (then we swapped a bigger motor in)
Several months ago, a guy at work came to me wanting to buy a 406 SB I have in my garage. Seems as though the 350 in his '56 Chevy street rod was smoking and he wanted to replace it. I told him what Restore did to the VW and he tried it. Guess what again...the smoking stopped in that 350. The guy was incredulous!
Now, that doesn't mean it will work in every engine, every time...but it worked in the two cases I have first-hand knowledge of.
Restore has lead, copper, and silver in it and it seems to help ring seal on marginal engines.
Anything with Teflon in it is useless; Dupont (makers of polytetraflouroethylene, or PTFE....Teflon) issued a release some years ago that said that Teflon in an oil additive will do absolutely nothing to an engine, good or bad. I believe them.

How many miles did you get out of this engine? Is it not possible that the engine would have made it this far anyway?
I offer my '86 Chevy Siverado as an example. It has 200,543 mile on it and still runs great. It's had Castrol 10W-30 in it since day one. Imagine if it had Mobil One or Royal Purple, or Redline Oil in it from day one. There are several people who would swear on their Grandmother's grave that the only reason it still runs great after 200,000 miles is because of the Mobil One, Royal Purple, or Redline .

i used to have an old dodge van with a 360 small block. i put in Duralube with one oil change. i figure what the ...., nothin' to lose right? so anyways, about 6 months later, the oil pump went out and i lost all oil pressure. that damn engine ran for 4 more months as a daily driver with NO oil pressure! i ended up trading in the van to a dealership, and that motor never quit on me.
now i wouldn't necessarily put that stuff in the vette, but for me it worked like a charm....
