C 4: hard starting
I have an '88 Vette with 40,000 K. It starts hard at random and unpredictable intervals. It starts, revs slow & rough, "service engine soon" light comes on, and stalls. On subsequent attmpts to start, it wil start and run OK after 1 - 5 additional attempts. On some occassions it starts fine with no problems. The local Chevy dealership has replaced the MAFS (twice), plugs, and wires. I have replaced air filter with an after market - green filter. Nothing has helped. The car always runs OK once it starts, altho "service engine" light stays on. The local dealership admits that they don't know what's wrong and are making guesses as to the problem.

I had the same problem. I replaced the o2 sensor, the air filter, and cleaned the throttle body. It seems to be okay, although occassionally I stil get a hard start. You have low miles so I wouldn't think you have an injector problem. Best to have it hooked up to see what you get for codes.
