I don't know, that's an all original numbers matching spare. It even has the original paint, rust, and dirt on the wheel. It might really help the car show 100%
When I dropped the spare out of my 86 it hadn't seen the light of day since it was put in at the factory. I chucked the spare and added a can of Fix-A-Flat to my inventory.
Was there any air in it?? When I pulled the spare on my 87, not only was it flat, but the tire had pulled off the wheel bead and the corrosion was so bad, I had to have the tire removed and I had to grind down the bead area to get it to re-seat!
I now have one of those spare tire air hoses from Griot's garage on both Vettes. I can check the air pressure without having to drop the spare: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....2530&SKU=44407
Worth the 10 bucks!!
Mine realy cleaned up nicely too. In fact as I type I can look across the office and see that it's still very shiny (I use it as part of an end table... ).
A puncture repair kit and a pair of dykes along with a cell and plastic is all I carry these days.
It was actually really close to the correct pressure. That Griot's Garage thing looks pretty slick though. I should pick one of those up when my money tree blossoms in another few months here

The spare won't fit over my brembos front or rear. So it's just added weight.
hahahaha looks like mine when i took it out .when i seen how small it was i said put it back im not putting that thing on my car .can u picture what that little thing would look like on with those big tires .if i was beside the road with a flat i would of put it on but luckey i was in my yard.and had a big spare tire in the shed.yea it was so dusty u wouldnt think it would get so dirty under there

Mine was also flat and wouldn't hold air. It doesn't matter too much to me, though...If I were to ever get a flat, i'd probably just call for a flat-bed or something to carry it to the nearest Chevy dealer. I doubt I'd try to drive on that space saver.

I know what you mean.
On a run last year, a Z06 got a flat rear tire. He had no spare, so I loaned him mine. You don't think that looked hilarious??!!
