Rant Please Read

I really don't think the wave is not purposely done. Maybe they're daydreaming, don't feel like waving, don't know anything about the wave or are having a bad day and don't want to wave at anyone. There's countless reasons why someone might not wave.
I bought my car 3 years ago for $7,500. Within the first year, I spent $4,000. Within the last year, I decided to modify the hell out of it and spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000. That's what 500 horses and some blingage will buy. But do I think I'm better than any other C4 owner? Of course not. A Corvette owner is a Corvette owner. The type or model of Vette you drive, does not make you any better or worse than any other Vette driver or owner. I believe most Vette owners believe that. And if the cocky Corvette owner does not wish to wave, it's his loss.
Buy whatever vette you like for your own reasons and don't give a damn about anyone else - it's a free world we live in and everyone is entitled to think what they want so don't lose any sleep over them - getting upset leads to silly stuff like roadrage etc.
I've now realised however why some vettes don't wave - when you are driving a vette like it was meant to be driven it's bloody hard to recognise another vette until it's way, way in the distance ; - I've been guilty of it on a few occasions and it's only cos I never saw them till it was too late. Too busy watching the other fools on the road getting in the way of my vette.

Oh, by the way we didn't make our rent so we'll have to pass the basket again...
It's like Harley vs *** bikes crap, its all the same when you boil it down.
I DONT wave.... WHY? Cuz I am behind the freaking wheel driving..
If you wanna wave and be a social butterfly, go to a car show where
the cars are parked and y'all can wave, talk or whatever..
Driving gets first priority with me, not waving at other Vettes..
C5 guys got it right.. Driving comes first... There, rant off...

pop-ups. As most of you know, I'm the most recent C4
defector / C5 forum prospect. Let me first apologies for the puke icon. C5 General has that function programmed into my membership status. You'll notice every time I type C4
the icon is automatically programmed to be displayed. I just wanted to clarify one issue. We don't ignore you because we want to, we do so because it has an immediate reflection of our membership status as well as GM incentives program. If you notice the stars under my avatar, those represent my status in the C5 community. If I never owned a Vette and just went out and bought a C5, I would have started with a ten star status. But because I'm technically a C4
Defector, they've lowered my status to that of being "bottom of the barrel". This all started with GM's C5 incentive program and is highly influenced by C5 Generals deeply structured participation. You see, back in 1997 GM immediately introduced their incentive program to new C5 buyers. This incentive program was originally initiated to influence C4
owners to buy the (then) new C5's. Here's how it works; If when test driving the new C5 with the salesman and you run across a C4
that waves at you, if you ignore this person you will immediately qualify for a $1000.00 rebate on your purchase. However, you cannot turn your head and pretend not to see him. You have to look him directly in the eye and not wave back. This is done to encourage C4
to feel left out and inferior to a C5. These GM incentives continued through late 2004. They have an agreement with C5 General to continue this on the forum, wherein they offer further rebates based on our star rating system. Each star earned by not waving at you entitles a member to an additional $250.00 rebate per star. GM believed that this would encourage further sales of the C5. This is also a continued strategy of GM's currently being utilized among the new C6 owners. That's right, they can't wave at us C5 owners. So you see, it's really nothing personal. It's simply a GM marketing strategy in increasing new Vette sales. A pretty effective one at that Last edited by C5VetteLS1; Mar 25, 2005 at 12:53 PM.

Personally, money has never been a good reason for me to do anything. If I wanted a C-5 I'd own a C-5. Period. I wanted the oldest CORVETTE I could own with some of the nice things like air conditioning that actually worked and a decent (ok Bose isn't decent) radio. I overpaid, I got what I wanted. I've had years where I purchased three cars and a boat, all brand new, all within a year of each other, all cash. I don't make payments on vehicles, its a waste of money. I don't need some over-extended punk with an attitude telling me that any Corvette is any less of a car relitive to his over compensating POS.
My car is 100% original sans the cat back. I really don't want to do any serious mods. Guys like this make me want to buy another C4 just to mod the crap out of it and smoke their whiney litte azzes.
Ok, I hear the nurse coming down the hall with my meds, I better switch back to the **** sites before she sees this.....gotta go!
she told me that the two 5 year olds running around outside saw my car and started arguing, saying "thats MY car"

Future owners

In 5 years all of the C5 owners will have sold their cars to people who like vettes for vettes, and then the C5 will be properly inducted into the fraternity.

, and there's Corvette owners
