I don't think anybody would actually have an open cup of anything in any car. BTW, in one of those cupholder ads it says for automatics only but they show a manual pictured.

I have bought both mentioned in this post. The one from mid america sits in the garage. I couldnt give it away on a "pay it forward" thread. A while back, a CF member was selling the new style ones for $27. Got one and am very happy with it.

The only ones that work are the ones that mount to the side of the dash....not where the cigarette lighter is. And only a moron would have an open cup in the holder......the velocity of the car alone would splash the liquid all over the place. The side mounted ones actually work for the spill proof lid cups. Only ones I'd recommend. The one pictured there is a Piece of S*** not to mention a VERY bad idea. A spill in the cigarette lighter case wouldn't be fun anyway you slice it.
You all should see what they give you from the factory in the C5's. :***** It is maybe 1 1/2 inches in depth. Even a light foot on the throttle will cause any drink to tip over. All that cup holder is good for is for change. I liked the one that wedges between the passenger seat and console so much, I just put one in my Z06.
I don't drink in the ZR-1 but I do in my daily driver.
I've had this 93 for 1 1/2 years - never spilled something yet and if you do its no big deal - the car has leather seats and my rugs have scotchguard.
I highly recommend the cup holder - it cradles the whole drink so it can't spill out - heck you could probably do a turn at 90 and be fine
The factory cupholder work fine for like a can of coke/ beer, but thats about it. Other than that I would only use them on a trip when I was going the same speed for a long period of time, otherwise they seem to spill everytime you give it a decent amount of throttle

You have to be kidding right? The factory cupholder sux.
You have problems getting it into Reverse or other gears depending on if your soda is in front holder or rear holder.
It is only a matter of time before you spill something and then it gets everything all nasty especially when you take your console apart and it leaked down on everything. Say what you will put the cupholder is damn nice - It is so much nicer on trips now.
