OK, this is starting to drive me crazy. The Service Engine Soon light used to pop on back when I had a leak on my intake manifold. I have had the manifold resealed and had not seen the light again until today. It flickered on for about two minutes and then when out and did not come back on Aaughhh!!!
The car seems to be running fine. Should I be worried about this? If it had stayed on I would go get it checked out but it was only on for a couple of minutes. I drove it for another 30 minutes and it never came back on. Is this one of those electrical gremlins that are common to C4's? It was parked for about three weeks, could this light be some cobwebs from the the car sitting?
Your 93 vette has a good memeory, check your codes, and that should
get you in area of what might wrong.
OK, this may be a dumb statement, but is there any easy (cheap) way to check the codes? I spoke with a local GM dealer and he said it would be $160 just to hook it up and run the codes! Is this something that could be done at a place like Auto Zone, or do I have to just call around for the cheapest price and bite the bullet?
this is what's going on with mine. I've been reading about the light coming on, along with quad driver problems. Might not be the same as you though. You should check for codes still

Exactly. And for those of you with OBD II cars (1996 and up), you can buy an inexpensive code reader from Harbor Freight tools that will also clear your codes. Got mine for $40 on sale, use it on my 96 F150.
All true. Some codes will automatically reset themselves after a specific number of events occur without another error. That is why the light sometimes comes on, then goes off. Depending on the code, it may or may not leave a code in the history. That's why you need a code reader, and a list of codes and what they mean.
