So I had the the mechanic install new plug wires while some other brake work was going on. I used Taylor 8mm wires. But now, the wires are a big jumbled mess around the distributor. The last set of wires, which were also Taylor 8mm seemed to be fitted to the motor with no excess length, like my truck and my wifes accord. These seem to be all the same lentgh. They are not labled per cylinder like the last set was. Is there any danger in having excess length spooled around the dist. or coiled up around the motor?
Any advice on how to make this look prettier? I'm an average mechanic and not sure If I want to be splicing plug wires, I'm afraid I'll screw them up.
Sounds like your "mechanic" did some pretty sloppy work. Do you have wire looms or are they just hanging? Maybe if you had some pictures we could help you out.

I just had red Taylor 8mm spiro pro wires installed yesterday. They look great and are routed very neatly. I would take it back to the shop and have them do it right.
