Hi, I new to the forum, don't have a Corvette yet (had one 30 years ago pre wife/kids) but have almost closed a deal on a 94 cpe. My question is this... It doesn't have the remotes for the PKE, can I still get them? Will any work? And if so how do I program them?
You can try e-bay or Superior Chevy, Chris May at 800 728-8267. Dealer will charge $94.00 + shipping. Could probably do better on e-bay?
The FOB'S are particular to years 93 thru 96. If you buy theu a dealer you will get programming instructions, otherwise, try the search function under PKE.
Yeah, you can definitely still get 'em. The problem most folks run into is just the $$$ issue - some (like me) can't justify it. I open my 96 with keys in the door. That's just me, though...others would go nuts without their PKEs. Go figure!
Does locking the car with the key set the alarm? I am under the immpression that on my other vehicles the alarm isn't set by doing that!? If it does then getting the PKE isn't as big an issue.

If the alarm was "on" the last time the PKE was used, then the alarm is set to on now. Roll your driver side window down, open the door, hit the power lock button and close the door. Reach through the open window and manually unlock the door. If the alarm is activated the horn will sound when you open the door. Put the key in the ignition and turn to run, this will silence the alarm.
That will work. And you can open with key, as I've been doing, but fixing my PKE is up on the top 5 things I want to do to my '96. I think it will be cool for my car to recognize me when I walk up, and unlock the doors for me!
There's lots of threads on PKE on here - do a search on PKE and it'll keep you busy for a long time.
There is a company caller Xilor that manufactures PKE remotes for corvettes. Their phone number is 865-546-1081. They generally don't sell to retail customers but you can ask to be put on a mailing list because occasionally they do sell retail. rganders@netzero.com
Yes you can get them. Chris at Superior will be about $94., normal dealer price is about $160. Programming instructions come with it or you can find them on the forum.
Passive Keyless Entry, yes when its in passive mode (hence turned on) it locks and arms the alarm, then unlocks, lights on (at night) and disarms the alarm.
Even if its in passive mode now (flashing Security on instrument panel) using the key to unlock the door disarms the alarm.
I will sell you mine, if you are interested, IM me.
I'm not on IM, but would be interested in buying. Send me a private message with your email and I'll get back to you. I think I just closed the deal on my 1994
