I have purchased items on the internet and have also sold items there. I have not had any problems in over five years, buying and selling. All types of items like computers, auto parts, refinanced my mortgage to a 15 year at 4 5/8 per cent. Oh yah, I purchased my 1996 vette on the internet---last year I drove 18000 miles with no problems. And yes you can trust Ecklers.
I've had pretty good luck with Eckler's It's nice to drive over to Titusville...get my goodies and grab some lunch at a place called Dixie Crossroads!! Another thing I like about Eckler's is they let me return stuff for full credit when I've had the part sometimes for 4-5 months!!
I've had good luck with Zip, MAD, and Corvette Central, but as someone else pointed out - they don't tell you when an item is out of stock until after you place the order. I made up a simple spreadsheet (a little nerdy I guess) because the shipping charges vary between houses. Sometimes you can realize a net savings ordering a more expensive item from one company over another to stay in a lower shipping bracket if you're ordering a bunch of stuff. $0.02.
I've bought from Ecklers a few times. I agree with the comment that they don't tell you when things are not in stock. They have a good return policy which I have used. I have only had an issue once and it is still ongoing. I returned a defective part for exchange with their tech assistance direction. When I did not get the exchange part I called and they told me it takes 10 business days between the time they receive the returned part and clear it for exchange.... well it's been over 20 business days and today they told me my exchange somehow fell thru the cracks... They promised to rush the replacement out today...
I'll post the results good or bad in the next few days.
