Default Need Help, Please

My check gauges light is on, low coolant light is on. I added anti-freeze in the high and in the recovery tank. I then started it up, and the temp would not go down. I noticed coolant coming out of the top of the recovery tank ( it was flowing out) when I pulled over. I'm at a friends house while my engine cools, and i live 5miles away, so I can make it home, but does anyone have any suggestions?

My Jeep did this when my radiator was clogged up (throwing coolant out of the overfill tank).
Air in the system will turn on the low coolant light. Is this an LT1 or L98? Do a search on how to bleed the air out. You can also get more coolant into the system by pouring coolant into the radiator while someone runs the engine at about 1,500 to 2,000 rpm. Wait until the thermostat opens and pour then quickly cap it when it won't take more coolant. Also on an LT1 there are bleed screws to open. First check for clogged radiator. Hope this helps.

Default did mix

i did mix the two, but the dex-cool was way low, will this cause major damage? What exactly does the bleed valve do?

Dex cool and Ethylene Glycol (the green stuff) do not mix well.

Bleed screws let air out of the cooling system and allow you to put more coolant into it. It is only on the LT1 engines. What year is your car?

If you mix the two, you will make a slug and the system must be flushed out, a two to three hour job and then add dexcool/distilled water mixture.
