Hi, I have a 93 convertible. I am replacing the top with a glass window. Has anyone done this conversion and bought the kit? Any help or advice would be appriciated
1. Get a video that shows step by step how to do it. I understand the video is no longer available, so that is quite a problem.
2. Make sure that you take a lot of time and get all the glue off the rear bow. The back of the top is only held on with glue and if you have any glue remaining it will come off eventually.
3. Careful triming. Make sure you leave enough material to work with, especially on the rear bow. No slips of your razor blade!
4. You will need to replace most of your weatherstripping. Any peice you try to remove will tear and fall apart.
5. Get a quality top. I used Robbins.
6. You may as well replace the headliner. I did not and the few stops that is is worn makes it look crapola.
Are you looking at replacing the whole top with one with a glass rear window.............or are you asking how to replace the plastic rear window with a glass one on you current soft top.
I removed my 93plastic window top (material only) and purchased an ex on top with glass window and the OEM GM kit made by ASM to retrofit the bows for the glass window install
