Anybody know of some interesting sources for replacements of the "bread box" . I know Mid-America has a plain panel, but I have seen other references in some forums that refer to panels with pockets etc. Any help would be appreciated. I am gutting the interior in my 87 vert, and I would like to replace that thing. Thanks for the help
Wayne88, if it still sticks out as far I don't think it would be that great either. I think there is some stuff out there that is flat, but has a soft pocket on the front. Thanks for the reply.
http://www.exoticwooddash.com. 87Clwy, these guys have a full carbon fiber set that includes the pass side replacement panel. It's $343, so a bit spendy. Yours looks good and I was kind of wondering whether somebody had done this and was happy with it. Thanks
Thanks, I can't remember how much I paid, but I do remember it was a bit pricey -- but worth it. I think it adds just the right touch of class and I get all kinds of compliments on it.
I forgot the kit I ordered also came with the flat backing for the passenger side. I had orginally replaced my 'bread box' with the MAD flat piece, but is was just too plain and too cheap looking.
My current '89 came with this and I really can't stand it. I like the look of the factory dash. But point being; if yours is in good shape I will trade you if you like. Mine has a mid 70's emblem taped to it, I can remove if you like. Just shoot me an E-Mail and let me know.

BTW I may not be able to respond quickly. We are having several friends come say with us from New Orleans and Gulfport due to the weather.
My vette had one like that when I got it. I didn't even know that it was an aftermarket piece until my first cruise-in. I have to admit I think it is silly to have that big box there and NOT have an access hinge on the front.
