Default Question for Mojo

Saw in a thread that your Vette ran 12.90's. Can I ask what ya done to it? These new Mustangs have me a little nervous. Mines a 93 A4 with 3.07's and Magnaflow cat back.
Thanks.

hmmm... It's late and Franky is getting is much needed beauty sleep.

however, on the auto car, if I remember rightly, it's a new torque converter and a D44 conversion, don't remember the gears.

For the most part, the engine is stock. The rest is techique.

The biggest thing is seat time...practice, practice, practice.

I've been dragging all summer and I know that I'm terribly consistent now...so it's up to tweaking the car if I want to go faster.

Also...Englishtown at sea level and the most % grade allowable by the NHRA helps!

Our track is at 1000ft above sea level, so our only hope is for cool, dry, air to punch our best times.

For example, one of our boys is Mr. 12.45 every time (383 stroker), he ran in air about 15 degrees cooler and he became Mr. 12.30.

Thanks.
IIRC, there was a recent thread in either Off Topic or Other Cars that had '05 Mustang (stock) dyno numbers. I don't remember the exact figures, but I do recall it not being much to worry about.

Oh but it was. The Mustang almost mirrored my dyno numbers done at the same place. I just hope my fat azz and the 400 less lbs the vette has over the stang is enough.

Andy is just jealous because he's older

To answer the question:

The six speed is completely stock, just lots of seat time. Learning optimal shift points, good weather and keeping the car as cool as possible.

The automatic has a 2800 converter and 3.45 gears. With the Weld wheels on I have run a best of 12.70@105 with 275/50R15 BFG drag radials at 22 psi hot.

That's pretty much it.
